Owner and founder
Maureen Brown is a passionate special education advocate with a strong belief in the potential of every child. With extensive experience in the field, she has become a trusted resource for families seeking support and guidance in advocating for their children's educational rights.
Her journey began when her own child faced challenges in the education system, inspiring her to dedicate her career to fighting for equitable and inclusive education for all. Prior to opening her own practice Maureen worked as an advocate for nine years at both the Norfolk County District Attorney’s office as well as Massachusetts Office for Victim Assistance. These positions laid the groundwork and prepared her to be the strong advocate that she is today for families.
Maureen is a tireless advocate for children with special needs and their families. She understands the complexities of the special education system and is well-versed in federal and state laws and regulations that govern it. With her in-depth knowledge and compassionate approach. She guides families through the process, empowering them to become strong advocates for their children. From Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to dispute resolution and legal rights, Maureen provides unwavering support every step of the way.
Education
Maureen has an Undergraduate degree in Psychology, a Masters in Human Services, both from the University of Massachusetts, a Certification in College Counseling, from UCLA.
She has attended several advanced legal training in Special Education from Suffolk Law.
Maureen also completed the Certification program at the Federation for Children with Special needs.
Maureen tours programs throughout the country as part of being a member of TCA and has a minimum requirement of seeing over fourty programs during a one year period.
