Ensure Your
Child’s Success

Educational consulting to support an individualized approach to learning.

Maureen Brown

We take the lead on getting your child the education they deserve.

Let's make sure that your child's school is not just meeting, but exceeding expectations by ensuring they receive all the necessary services and support essential for their overall success and well-being.

Your child shouldn’t be short-changed for learning differently.

Many parents feel overwhelmed by the IEP process.

Just getting your child’s basic needs met at school can be a struggle!

There’s so much to figure out—from the specific laws that apply to your child’s case to independent testing, the building of a strong case, writing the necessary letters to schools and agencies, and getting approvals without pushback from the school.

It's challenging enough to be a parent of a child with mental health challenges or learning disabilities.

Parents getting the support they need from Ask the Advocate

Let us minimize your frustration and build you a strong IEP based on your child’s needs, introducing options you wouldn’t have known about otherwise, such as individualized services based on their unique needs, parent training, home services, assistive technology, music therapy and other programming your district may offer at no cost.

We advocate for your child so you don’t have to.

When you trust us to advocate for your child, their case will be handled with expertise and care. We will immediately seek to resolve any issues with the school system and find solutions without added stress and unnecessary delays.

By combining our decades of expertise, knowledge of the laws and resources available to you, and the specific needs of your child and their disabilities, we will take the necessary steps to ensure your child's IEP is the strongest and most inclusive it can be.

We will also provide recommendations for educational attorneys, neuropsychologists, and private schools to fit your child, as needed.

Let’s get your child the appropriate placement that can meet all of their unique and individual needs as well as the resources required to make meaningful progress in school.

“Before I knew it, my daughter got
all of the services she needed.”

I thought I could do this all on my own. I thought that my school would give my children the education they needed. I truly didn’t know how wrong I was until I sat in a meeting with the school and Maureen.

This woman is extremely smart and efficient. Maureen worked so hard to make sure my daughter got what she needed to have a successful education. Before I knew it Maureen had the school on the right track and my daughter got all of the services she needed. I cringe to think where my daughter would have been without her.

“Having her voice at all these meetings
took away my anxieties and stress.”

Maureen has helped me from the beginning stages of getting my daughter an out-of-district placement for middle school, and high school and now she is in a 3-year transitional school. Having her voice at all these meetings took away my anxieties and stress. I would have been lost without her.

My daughter is thriving now and we are so grateful to her for all her knowledge. This work is arduous and thank you so much Maureen for everything. My daughter's life will be so much more because of YOU.

Meet Our Founder,

Maureen Brown, M.S.

”After learning how to advocate for my own children, I knew I needed to help you do the same.”

Years ago, when advocating for her son, Maureen was told so many conflicting things about how the special education process worked.

As she began doing her own research and joining different support groups, she connected with other families going through similar challenges. Maureen started her new career path started with obtaining her Certification through the Federation for Children with Special Needs. Followed by trainings at Suffolk Law School in Special Education as well as Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, (MCLE).

She not only got her son the resources and support he needed to thrive in the school system but made it her mission to help families like yours do so, too.

That’s when Ask the Advocate was born.

Over the past 22 years, Maureen has resolved thousands of cases, offering solutions such as private education with transportation without high lawyer fees.

Most of all, she loves receiving letters, emails, and texts from families she has helped and seeing the impact of her work for decades to follow.
